Is there a way for jaws or window-eyes to recognize these? Of course, visually if I get the mouse over the area, then with the mouse keys both screen readers will read them, but with one wrong slip the drop down disappears. What do y'all have to say? This is driving me nuts! There are 2 sites now, that I go to on a regular basis and both have these elements. Help please! Thanks
i would try to just up and down arrow through it til yu find the one you want to click on then hit enter hope that works tracey
The thing is that with some comboboxes as soon as somebody press up or down it loads another page without waiting until we choose the one we want. in this kase what somebody has to do is pressing alt+down arrow before sellecting something from the list.
I hope this is helpful.

what nikosdemetriou says is correct. if you are using jaws with these combo boxes then press enter to switch forms mode on, then press alt down arrow. that will solve your problems.
good luck.
I'm not doing a good job describing my problem...lol! These seem different then combo boxes. It is a link or element that only opens up when the mouse is over it. It's similar to a combo box; except, the both screen readers seem to ignore them. Window-eyes calls it an element and jaws doesn't seem to have a name for it. Any further thoughts?
i didn't know about the alt down thing harp! i will have to try it out
